An impression of the AutoRAI outdoor park

AutoRAI 2011:
majority of automotive brands already registered

Amsterdam, 25 November 2010 - The 2011 edition of AutoRAI is set to be bigger and better than ever. With five months to go before the exhibition, some 81 percent of all major automotive brands in the Netherlands have already registered, along with a large number of suppliers. For the first time in the AutoRAI's history, the largest car event in the Netherlands is literally bursting at the seams with exhibitors. In addition to filling all the halls of the RAI, the outdoor terrain in front of the complex will also be home to the AutoRAI outdoor park, featuring test lanes, spectacular demonstrations, a 4x4 trail and test drives with electric and other sustainable cars.

From Wednesday 13 to Saturday 23 April 2011, the doors of Amsterdam RAI will be open to people of all ages who like cars. The plans for the event look very promising: In contrast to the subdued atmosphere surrounding the exhibition in 2009, it seems that the automotive industry has regained its confidence and optimism.

Driving for visitors and lots of outdoor entertainment
A new and unique element of AutoRAI 2011 is the use of the area in front of the RAI as an outdoor park where visitors can enjoy spectacular live demonstrations, drive electric or other sustainable cars, try out 4x4s and much more besides. For the youngest visitors there are plenty of dedicated automotive activities. The outdoor terrain is a part of AutoRAI and accessible to all AutoRAI visitors.

Complete overview, brand stands and concept cars
Inside the exhibition will also be bigger and better than the previous editions. Although there is still around five months to go before the opening, 81 percent of all major automotive brands have registered for participation. On individual brand stands, the companies will present a breathtaking overview of their models, premieres and concept cars. AutoRAI 2011 is virtually certain to feature all the large and well-known automotive brands from the Dutch market and their latest news. With a considerable number of sports cars, exclusive cars and suppliers, it will be by far the largest and most complete automotive event in the Netherlands to date.

The automotive brands that have already registered for AutoRAI 2011 are (in alphabetical order): Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Bugatti, Burton, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Citroën, Corvette, Dacia, Fiat, Ford, Hyundai, Jaguar, Jeep, Kia, Lamborghini, Lancia, Land Rover, Lexus, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mini, Mitsubishi, Opel, Peugeot, Porsche, Renault, Rolls Royce, Saab, Seat, Skoda, Smart, Volkswagen, Volvo and Westfield. This list will be expanded over the coming period, including with brands from the exclusive market segment.

Impressive special events
In addition to the comprehensive overview of all current models and prototypes, visitors to AutoRAI 2011 will also enjoy a number of impressive special events. Oldtimer fans will be in their element in the Classics Pavilion and can have a say in what cars they would prefer to see at the event prior to the exhibition (via www.autorai.nl). The Holland Pavilion will house all things related to the Dutch automotive industry, including a stand from Carros Magazine. This edition of the AutoRAI will again feature Autovisie magazine's fantastic Supercar Paddock, which will be larger and more high-profile than ever as the publishers celebrate its 55th birthday.

GoMotor: Larger and even more attractive
After the enthusiastic response in 2009, the GoMotor motorcycle event will again be part of AutoRAI 2011. With a large number of registered brands representing the majority of the motorcycle market, GoMotor offers a highly attractive overview. Divided into clear market segments, the exhibition offers visitors an ideal opportunity to find the motorcycle of their dreams. Whether they are looking for a tour or racing bike, a chopper or an offroader, each segment will profile the very best that the various brands have to offer. Scooters are also an important element of GoMotor, with a separate platform in the GoMotor hall.

As was the case in 2009, the outdoor area also offers people without a motorcycle license the chance to ride a motorbike in the 'Try the Bike' activity. This will further ensure that GoMotor is a complete event that reflects the interests of the majority of AutoRAI visitors.

Tickets and accessibility
AutoRAI takes place from Wednesday 13 to Saturday 23 April 2011. On weekdays the exhibition is open from 12.00 to 22.00. Evening tickets (valid after 17.00) are available at a 30 percent discount on the normal ticket price. In the weekend, the exhibition is open from 10.00 to 17.00. Children up to and including the age of 14 can visit the AutoRAI for free when accompanied by an adult.

Amsterdam RAI has sufficient parking space in and around the RAI buildings. However, in light of the expected number of visitors, the AutoRAI organisers do recommend visitors travel by public transport whenever possible. To facilitate this, AutoRAI 2011 has teamed up with the NS rail company to offer visitors a special price of € 17.50 per return ticket from any NS train station in the Netherlands to Amsterdam RAI.
