Individual brand stands return to leading car exhibition

AUTORAI 2011: HOLLAND'S LARGEST EN MOST EXCITING AUTOMOTIVE EVENT

Amsterdam, 7 April 2010 - The 2011 edition of AutoRAI, one of Europe’s top automotive events, will take place from Tuesday 12 to Saturday 23 April. Visitors to Amsterdam RAI will be presented with a comprehensive overview of the latest news from the car industry. In addition to many premieres and concept cars, AutoRAI 2011 will showcase the very latest innovations and feature a range of exciting live shows. In addition, this new edition will benefit from the return of popular features such as the brand stands and evening opening hours. The AutoRAI is a biennial event organised by Amsterdam RAI under the auspices of the RAI Association.

Amsterdam RAI has further developed the renowned exhibition concept for AutoRAI, including the experiences of the 2009 event when the trade show was held in an adapted format to reflect the economic crisis. Although the 2011 event will also focus on cost-efficiencies, exhibitors will have many more opportunities to express their brand identity. The ultimate result for participating companies will be a maximum-impact show for more-than-acceptable costs.

Return of the brand stands
The main difference with the 2009 exhibition is that the brand stands will once again be included at AutoRAI 2011. In other words, cars from a single manufacturer will be on show at the same stand. In 2009 the cars were divided into ‘theme worlds’, as a result of which cars from multiple brands were exhibited together. Although visitor reactions were positive, car manufacturers have stated a preference for having individual stands where they can profile their premieres and concept cars within a single brand environment.

Modular stand construction concept
Exhibitors at AutoRAI 2011 can choose between two types of stand construction. In addition to using their own stand, they can opt for a modular stand construction concept developed in close cooperation with the Exhibition Committee and RAI Association. This set-up meets exhibitor requirements in terms of both brand identity and cost efficiencies. The joint purchase of stand construction elements such as floors, rigging and lighting will provide considerable savings. The concept is currently being further developed in cooperation with Opel Netherlands and will be presented to the exhibitors at a later stage.

Special Events
Due their popularity among visitors, various special events will also be returning to AutoRAI 2011. Several are already in preparation, including the Classic Pavilion and the GoMotor! event that was introduced in 2009. This two-wheeler fair features the very latest in the field of motorcycles, scooters and mopeds, including accessories such as clothing and helmets. The 2011 event will also offer visitors the possibility to test-drive and experience vehicles themselves.

Open in the evenings
The opening hours of AutoRAI 2011 on working days are from 12.00 to 22.00. To provide visitors with extra options, the exhibition will be open on all working day evenings: These evening tickets are available from 17.00 at a reduced rate. During the weekend the event will be open from 10.00 to 17.00.

Press and industry day
AutoRAI 2011 starts on 12 April 2011 with a combined press and industry day. The press day of AutoRAI 2011 is planned from 08.00 to 14.00. From 14.00 to 18.00, the exhibition will be open to fleet owners, lease companies, insurers and other corporate guests during the special industry afternoon. The AutoRAI will be open to the general public from 13 April.
